MILITARY COLD CLIMATE SURVIVAL KIT US ARMY
NSN: 1680-00-973-1862
Up for auction is an issued military “Survival Kit, Cold Climate, Individual”. This is
U.S. Army issue for all U.S. Army aircraft, except the OV-1 Mohawk. This kit was designed for use in cold climates.
The
food and some medical supplies are out of date and they should NOT be used.
Outer case is marked: “U. S. SURVIVAL KIT, COLD CLIMATE, C. R. DANIELS, INC., DATE MFR 5 / 87, 1680-00-082-2512.” Condition is good, no holes, just some snags in the canvas, areas of discoloration, and dirt – typical for being loaded on and off aircraft.
Inner case is marked: “81337-11-1-192, 6 / 88, MFR 64730”.
Looks like new, with hanging tag.
Zippers on both work fine.
Kit Contains:
SLEEPING BAG, C.W. AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL (NSN 8465-01-131-7921) – in vacuum sealed plastic bag.
FRYING PAN/WASH BASIN.
Aluminum and used as the inner case liner so it has multiple marks inside and out.
Also has a hanging tag with the NSN number. The manual says Teflon coated but I’ve never seen Teflon on one of these.
SAW/KNIFE/SHOVEL with removable handle.
Snow shovel blade and handle have handling marks.
Saw/knife blade still has protective paper. Shovel blade is marked “KAL 60C90302”.
Both handle and blade also have a hanging tag with the NSN number.
