Description

Offered for your consideration is a
CROSS
Selectip
pen, USA-manufactured c.1995.  The Selectip is CROSS’ updated version of the Soft-tip that they introduced in the mid-1970's.  This example features a metal cap and barrel with heavy 12KT gold plating at a hallmarked 1/20th of total weight, light vertical striations, and a black plastic cap end and finger section with stainless tip cone.
It is monogrammed with the initials WBM JR., as pictured
.
So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this gold-filled CROSS Selectip pen is correct for your needs.
This CROSS pen is in clean, very good used condition.  It measures just over 5⅛” long, 5⅝” with cap posted atop barrel x ⅜” at its widest.  The metal cap and barrel have no dings, deep scratches, or plating wear, just some light scuffs and usage marks from the years, as pictured.  There are also a few small nicks to the black plastic cap end. Plus, I only wiped the pen clean for the photos, and it shines well, so it could probably be polished to look even better with a jeweler’s cloth, etc.  But, I’ll leave that to the new owner’s discretion since it presents quite nicely just the way it is.
What’s more, the clip rests tight against the cap with no gap or lift, and the cap engages the barrel securely.  However,
the barrel to black plastic writing end thread connection is somewhat inconsistent
.  When changing the ink refill, unscrewing/screwing the barrel slowly, deliberately, results in a solid connection of the halves.  Doing it too quickly, carelessly, can result in thread skipping and a loose connection.  There's no hurry!
Lastly, the Selectip pen has nice length and balance, good weight, and feels excellent to write with.  There’s a CROSS soft-tip cartridge inside currently that's nearly empty.  So, I’m including a sealed CROSS rolling ball cartridge in black, as pictured, for the new owner’s convenience (they're interchangeable refills in the versatile Selectip)!  And, the original retail gift box/papers are included, and in great shape, but the key ring that came with the pen is long gone.
As pictured and described, this 12KT gold-filled CROSS Selectip pen is offered at a competitive price.
