DESCRIPTION
The item for sale is "Oriental (Hongkong) Barbie" dressed fashion doll by Mattel, measuring 11-1/2 to 12 inches tall.  This doll was released in 1981 as a Special Edition and part of the "Dolls of the World -- Asia" Collection.  The doll features the "Kira" (Barbie friend) face mold and wears a long dress with side slit and a brocade coat. Note that the official photo from the Barbie Mattel website shows a different face mold ("Steffie") than the one actually used for the doll.
Oriental
Barbie doll is dainty and elegant in this beautiful costume reflecting the influence of the Orient. Her long, slender yellow dress is trimmed in red, and complemented by a red and golden-flowered jacket. Her lustrous black hair falls gently over her shoulders, and is pulled back to display her lovely face.
The doll is new, never displayed and never removed from its box, which is in near-mint condition to mint condition (considering this doll is from 1981). Please refer to the photos - the only exception is a tear in the bottom box lid. It is from the collection of a doll collector who is particular about box condition.  The item has been stored in a dust-free, pet-free and non-smoking environment.
