    Description

"Hoe Sai Gai." Chinese Restaurant Dinner Menu
Stamped with the date inside the menu. Seems like they made a new menu up every day!
"Mandarin Dishes" on one side of the Menu - American Dishes on the other
Its interesting to see the type of Chinese dishes offered back then in the 1940s.
Located at 75-85 W Randolph Street, this restaurant was noted for its Art Deco styling. There were many Chinese Restaurants in Chicago in the 1940s, but those on Randolph Street appealed to a higher clientele. The new Daley Center took the entire block on the south side of Randolph, tearing down Henrici's, Hoe Sai Gai, along with a significant slice of Chicago's downtown history starting in 1963.
    Chicago, Illinois.
Last photo is an ad I found in one of my mothers theater programs. It is not included in this - it is in the playbill auction but just wanted to show you how they advertised this upscale Chinese restaurant.
    SIZE:
It measures 9 by 12 inches.
THe menu has some wear and has been folded. There are soft corners. My mother wrote in ink the date as well as the name of the gentleman who paid for her dinner
