Description
Scarce original menu from the Village Grove Nut Club a Greenwich Village nightclub (circa 1920s -1950s) a tourist nightclub that played up its Village location and sometimes ‘zany’ acts, including the rather questionable (for an eating/drinking establishment) cockroach races. This menu which probably dates to the 1930s (full meals for .00 or .50) has screen printed cover art. It measures 11.25" by 8.75". The entire back of the menu is filled with blurbs from newspapers and celebrities including Lionel Barrymore, Jimmy Durante, Tom MIx, Mae West, etc. Great cover art with what I guess was the club's catch phrase "Coo-Coo Horsefeathers!"
